One of Cincinnati’s many great offerings is its rich and vibrant art scene. With so many arts and cultural organizations to explore, the opportunities to experience art in the city are endless. Currently, our neighbors at the Taft Museum of Art present the exhibition Rembrandt: Masterpieces in Black and White from the Rembrandt House in Amsterdam. I highly encourage you to see the exhibition, which runs through May 17.

My recent visit to the Taft Museum of Art’s exhibition got me thinking about the Cincinnati Art Museum’s fine collection of 82 Rembrandt prints. One of our collection strengths, according to several reputable scholars, is our Rembrandt portrait holdings. I invite you to join me for a special viewing session in the Museum’s Carl M. Jacobs Study Center on April 30 to study highlights from our collection, including Jacob Haaringh (1655), The Three Trees (1643), and selected works by Rembrandt’s contemporaries. Take advantage of this opportunity to examine the intimate details of these prints up close.
