The art form that we call the “oriental carpet” has transcended the limits of periods, places, religions, genders and cultures for seven hundred years. In this illustrated lecture, Walter Denny, University Distinguished Professor at University of Massachusetts Amherst, will focus on the ways, both traditional and modern, that art museums In the United States, Europe, and the Middle East store, study, exhibit, and explain this art form.
